Parent anxiety: I am afraid that my child will be bullied at school.

How Do I Make Kids Stop Bullying Me? (January 2019).

Anonim

The Reality :

There are kids who are sneaking on the weekend or feeling lethargic the night before, thinking of the next day of school. The reason for this is not always bullied bad grades, their classmates or other children and adolescents. According to a recent study of the news, almost every sixth 15-year-old victim of bullying. (Tagesschau 2017).

One in four students have been involved in bullying, either as perpetrators or as victims. Teachers often respond by talking to individual students, but rarely have lasting effects. It would make more sense to engage with the whole class and to network with other teachers at the whole school level (Jiménez 2017).

It is important that teachers make it clear that teasing and exclusion are also forms of violence and that they set values and rules together with the students. Such an approach leads to more pupils intervening when they observe bullying [cf. ibid.]. In Norway, the so-called Olweus program, which systematically prevents bullying, has reduced the bullying rate by 70 percent (Jiménez 2017).

Boys are more likely to be bullyed, but girls are more likely to be victims of rumors and marginalization. Meanwhile, the new media bullying is no longer limited to the schoolyard, but also burdened those affected at home: cyberbullying is called this form of bullying, which takes place on the Internet.

Often, adults are at a loss or look away as victims seek their own guilt and become increasingly socially isolated. Teachers are usually surprised when they talk about bullying in a classroom. Because the harassment often happens too subtle and usually outside of class, during breaks or on the way to school. The longer bullying continues, the harder it is to find a solution, and the more likely it is to cause physical or mental impairment (Richardt A. 2009). Even depression or even suicide can be a drastic result.

Parenting Education Tips for Fear :

It has been claimed for years that violence at school is constantly increasing and becoming increasingly brutal and unrestrained. In the empirical literature, on the other hand, there are more allusions than confirmations of this claim. ""It used to mean 'tricking', 'harassing' or 'finishing'. Today, it is called 'bullying' and has become more intrusive into people's awareness of the problem, ' says developmental psychologist Helene Guldberg (Guldberg H.2008). In the discussion about the causes and solutions of bullying, the DAK warns against rushing shots as the client of the study. For the prevention of violence, the health insurance company recommends (Richardt A. 2009):

  • The school must have clear and binding rules for everyday school life. Students should be involved in setting the rules.
  • The relationship between teachers and students should be characterized by mutual respect and appreciation.
  • The school should teach students how to resolve their conflicts non-violently.
  • Parents and teachers should avoid high performance pressures on individual students and scare students from exams.
Parents should know the warning signs of bullying. This includes:
  • If the child does not want to go to school anymore
  • if it has a stomachache in the morning
  • if it often has nightmares at night
  • if it is often sick
  • if it damages his school supplies
  • brings home when it is depressing, strained or very stressed after school.

If you suspect bullying, you should not rush to contact the offender, but inform the school and demand that action be taken. If necessary, you can also contact the school administration, the parents' council or a school psychology counseling center or educational counseling center.
